The Painted Turtle: A children's Book

Nezinscot Farm, located atop a hill overlooking a river in Turner, is home to many cows, goats, sheep, horses, llamas, chickens, and donkeys. The farm has been home to several generations of the Varney Family and is rich in tradition, history and stories. It's a wonder-filled place that farmer Gloria Varney shares with the world in her first book called The Painted Turtle. The book is the true tale of the restless ghost of a young man and his painted turtle friend, a talkative llama named Bernice, a border collie named Willy Nelson and their efforts in helping these special spirits finish their journey in life. Whimsically illustrated by Maine artist Mark Durbin, Gloria's retelling of family lore is a magical story for kids and parents alike.
