Sponsor an art student at Nezinscot Farm. The art of farming program is not only about helping young adults learn new skills in non-traditional art (cheese making, farming, artisanal bread baking, food processing, fiber art and wool production, life skills, etc.…..), but more importantly a way to educate the next generation about the importance and value in skills that sheds a different light than they may currently have. Over the past four years, I have hosted young adults from the University of Cincinnati’s art design school, Bates college in Maine and ESA in France.
These opportunities have allowed these students to go home with a different view of food, fiber and as mentioned an opportunity to talk and share with others a way to look at life through a different lens.
These funds would help offset some costs and allow for scholarships that would allow more students to attend.
